United Minerals Group (UMG), part of SCM Group (Donetsk), has acquired Donkerampromsyrovyna Firm LLC from Italy's Marazzi Group.

According to a UMG press release, the deal foresees 100% ownership of corporate rights to Donkerampromsyrovyna Firm, which develops the Toretske refractory clay field in Donetsk region. The clay reserves owned by the acquired company are estimated at 4.5 million tonnes. The sum of the transaction has not been disclosed.

The purchase of the assets will allow UMG to increase resources for clay extraction and receive the possibility of supplies through an additional logistics hub - Mertsalove. Due to the acquisition of assets, the holding will also get new clients. Under the terms of the deal, UMG will provide Marazzi Group plants in Italy and Russia with raw materials.

UMG is one of Europe's largest commodity holdings, which works in clay extraction, flux-dolomite and other promising raw materials directions. All UMG clay mining assets are located in Donetsk region, in territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities. The quarries are located in the town of Druzhkivka, and in Sloviansk and Dobropillia districts.
