NBU intends to prolong term for paying debt on credits by banks for three month to support banks' liquidity

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) plans to again prolong a term for paying the principal of the credits to the central bank by banks to support their liquidity, the NBU wrote on its Facebook page.

"The NBU plans to prolong the term of paying the principal of the debt under credits issued by the central bank to banks for another three months to support their liquidity," reads the report, referring to a speech of NBU Governor Valeriya Gontareva at a meeting with bankers on Monday.

The NBU said that the situation on the currency market remains stable.

"The model of currency auctions allows establishing the exchange rate benchmark and the central bank will continue this practice," reads the report.

Gontareva said that the NBU is restructuring both management processes and its organization structure.

The monetary policy and market management will be divided.
