AIS Group, one of the largest operators on the Ukrainian car market, has supplied 31 special cars to the Interior Ministry of Ukraine, having won a tender announced by the ministry, according to the company's press service.
The tender on the purchase of cars was announced in June 2009. Other large car companies also participated in the tender.
"Preference was given to inexpensive, high-quality cars produced in Ukraine. In the result of the tender, two models produced in Ukraine were chosen: the SsangYong Actyon body-on-frame SUV and the Hyundai Tucson SUV," a press release reads.
According to the company, the models were chosen due to the best technical features, more extensive features and the best price.
At the same time, the company did not give the value of the contract.
The company only said that initially the ministry planned to buy 25 cars using state funds, but after talks, the ministry was able to buy 31 SsangYong Actyon cars with the sum allocated.
