The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is not mulling the introduction of restrictions against banks operating in Crimea, NBU Governor Stepan Kubiv has said.
"We're working in the usual regime. Today all programs and decisions made by the government, the Social Policy Ministry and the Pension Fund are fulfilled. There are risks in sending cash, as the conditions are not foreseen. All conditions that are under control are fulfilled. Today we won't accept restrictions, because Ukrainian citizens are living in Crimea, and they are the same as you and me," he told reporters on Wednesday, March 12.
Kubiv also said that on March 13, 2014, an ad hoc meeting devoted to regional banks will be held. The issue with Crimea will be discussed as well.
"If we take the figures for Crimea, they are absolutely predictable from the point of view of even the small forecasts made a week ago," he said.
