Ukraine's State Road Service (Ukravtodor) is to allocate UAH 102.6 million to buy materials for preventing road accidents during a period of the icy conditions of roads.
The Ukravtodor's press service reported that in particular, the service plans to buy 1,018 million cubic meters of sand and 184,600 tonnes of salt, which is 60% of total needs.
The press release says that as of August 20, 2009, Ukravtodor has 256,500 cubic meters of sand and 32,300 tonnes of salt.
The state service plans by October 15 to stock at least 50% of the required volume of salt and alternate materials for work in the 2009-2010 winter period.
