EKO LLC (Kyiv), which is developing the network of EKO-market supermarkets in Ukraine, in 2013 increased its turnover by 15.2%, to UAH 4.32 billion.
According to a company press release, in 2013 it opened 14 new stores in various formats - hypermarkets, supermarkets and convenience stores. It also reconstructed and overhauled a number of supermarkets in various regions of Ukraine.
According to the company, in 2013 it actively developed the department of own imports, which was established in early 2013, and its sales over the year grew significantly. The portfolio of EKO-market's own brands in 2013 expanded by 90%.
The company also reported on an increase in the number of its employees: at the end of the year EKO-market employed 9,437 people, which is 761 people more than in 2012.
According to a company report in the information disclosure system of the National Commission on Securities and the Stock Market, EKO in January-September 2013 saw its net income rise by 15.8% compared to the same period in 2012, to UAH 2.585 billion. It net profit increased by 10.3 times, to UAH 660,000.
