The state ecological inspection in Mykolaiv region after checks of Mykolaiv-based Prometei-Oil Ltd. has suspended operation of 24 filling stations of the company due to violation of environment protection law, reads a Tuesday report of the inspection.
The report says that Mykolaiv regional department of the inspection registered that the wholesale and retail fuel trader operated without an emission permit and permits and limits on the creation and placement of waste.
In addition, local purification plants were exploited with violation of law.
The press release says that four persons were brought to administrative responsibility.
A well-informed source in the company told Interfax-Ukraine that it is likely that Prometei-Oil would challenge the decision of the inspection in court, as violation registered during the checks cannot do harm to environment.
He also said that Prometei-Oil operates only in Mykolaiv region and 24 filling stations are all of the company's stations.
