Medvedev: Russia, Ukraine need to restore trade turnover

It is time to restore trade turnover for Russia-Ukraine to previous levels and to forget old grudges, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.

"We should reanimate lots of things which, unfortunately, have been lost in Russia-Ukraine relations lately. Just one episode is not a good reason to bear a grudge," he told Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov on Tuesday.

Belarus has become the top trade partner of Russia for the first time in the post-Soviet period, although the place traditionally belonged to Ukraine, he remarked.

"So it is important to restore trade, economic and investment cooperation. Let us move on consistent with our plans," the Russian premier said.
