World Bank's Board of Directors expected to decide on Ukraine's $500m loan on December 23

The World Bank's Board of Directors is expected to decide on the allocation to Ukraine of the $500 million in Development Policy Loan III on December 23.

Ukrainian Vice-Premier Hryhoriy Nemyria told this to journalists in Kyiv on Friday following a meeting with World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Shigeo Katsu.

"We express hope that the World Bank's Board of Directors may take a final decision before the year ends," he said at a meeting with journalists held jointly with Shigeo Katsu.

He said the sides discussed the implementation of infrastructure-related projects in Ukraine.

Katsu in turn expressed hope that the World Bank's Board of Directors would decide on the loan by the end of the year.

As he put it, the Board of Directors will consider the loan before Catholic Christmas (December 25).

Speaking about the conditions of the loan, Katsu said the loan is designed for 30 years at a rate set at LIBOR+2 basic points.
