La Pizza Espresso chain to enter Ukrainian market early autumn

Individuals from Ukraine and Germany, whose names are not disclosed, are launching a project on the creation of the La Pizza Espresso mobile chain in Ukraine, planning from September to sign agreements with their partners, Deputy Director General for Franchise at Franchise Group, which has the exclusive rights to develop the project, Yulia Cherniak, has told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to a press release of the group, professionally equipped trailers and vans for itinerant trade will be placed.

"By the end of this year it is planned to produce ten La Pizza Espresso vans and in 2014 at least 50 active itinerant outlets will be created. The company plans to develop the chain using a franchise model," reads the press release.

Cherniak said that the franchise fee and royalty at the first phase of the project launch in Ukraine is not set. The average check for the chain will be around UAH 37.

Cherniak did not name the first city where the pizza van will appear, adding that the company has applications from partners from Poltava (the exclusive right for four vans), Chernivtsi (two vans), Kharkiv (one van) and Crimea (one van).

She said that the owners of the project are individuals from Ukraine and Germany. Germany is represented by the co-owners of the Kauver supermarket chain, which is part of Union Gruppe.
