Ukrainian insurers up net insurance premium collection by 38.4% over nine months

The insurance companies of Ukraine in January-September 2008 collected net insurance premiums worth UAH 11.84 billion, which was 38.4% up year–on-year, according to analytical data from the State Commission for Regulation of Financial Services Markets of Ukraine, spread at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

Total insurance payments of a total of UAH 17.379 billion for the nine months were collected, which was 40.8% up year-on-year.

According to the commission, risk insurance companies collected UAH 16.595 billion of the sum, which is 95.5% of the total fees collected by insurers, while life insurance companies collected UAH 783.5 million (4.5%).

Over the nine months, Ukrainian insurers paid claims totaling UAH 5.08 billion, which was 78.2% up year-on-year.

Along with this, risk insurance companies paid UAH 5.055 billion, and life insurance companies UAH 25.8 million.

The volume of net insurance payments was UAH 4.72 billion, which was 82.5% up year-on-year.
