Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara has said that the current situation with Ukrainian exports is critical.
"The situation in the export sphere remains critical for Ukraine," he said at a meeting of the council of exporters and investors under the Foreign Ministry in Kyiv on Thursday.
He said that a foreign trade deficit was growing every year and that it reached $16 billion last year.
He said he was confident that the Ukrainian economy would not withstand such "egregious disproportions" for a long time, and that it was necessary to change the situation in this area.
Kozhara demanded that Ukrainian ambassadors in foreign countries achieve concrete positive results in this area, and that members of the council of exporters provide recommendations and proposals on how to improve the situation with exports.
