AvtoKrAZ holding company (Kremenchuk, Poltava region), the only heavy-truck producer in Ukraine, is intending from June 2009 to invigorate production and in June to December 2009 produce 2,500 trucks, Yaroslav Bondarenko, the financial director of the company, has said at a press conference during the SIA-2009 Kyiv International Motor Show in Kyiv.
According to Bondarenko, the beginning of 2009 was difficult for the company due to economic and financial crisis, and the fulfillment of signed contracts was postponed until the second half of year as currently the company is experiencing a fall in production.
Bondarenko said that from the start of 2009, AvtoKrAZ had sold trucks worth UAH 83 million and supplied 370 trucks to customers.
At the same time, the company is planning from June until the end of the year to sell about 500 trucks in Ukraine, 500 trucks in Russia, and 500 trucks in other CIS countries, while the remaining trucks will be sold in other countries.
AvtoKrAZ holding company is the only heavy-duty truck producer in Ukraine.
AvtoKrAZ makes 28 basic models, and more than 260 modifications and trim levels of civilian and military vehicles. The company's automobiles are in use in more than 60 countries.
AvtoKrAZ decreased production by 13% to 3,634 vehicles in 2008 as output plunged in the fourth quarter due to the financial crisis.
AvtoKrAZ is part of Finance&Credit Group, which is affiliated with Ukrainian businessman Kostiantyn Zhevaho.
