HELZ to boost pump production ten times, occupy up to 12% of market in 2009

Kharkiv Electrical Engineering Plant Ukrelectromash (HELZ), the leader in manufacturing induction motors and household electric pumps in Ukraine and part of the UPEK industrial group, plans in 2009 to increased the production of household electric pumps by ten times compared to last year, to 13,800 units, and occupy up to 12% of the Ukrainian market.

UPEK's press service reported on Monday that in January to March 2009 alone the company produced 1,738 pumps, which is 25% more than in the whole of 2008 (1,387).

HELZ Director General Oleksandr Chkalov said that a rise in demand for HELZ's products was linked with an expansion in its range of pumps, which are in great demand on the domestic market.

He said that a flexible price policy, the stimulation of sales managers, active marketing and expansion of sales channels, including the entrance of special construction supermarket chains and the start of the formation of a dealer chain in all regions, was behind the company's success.
