The basis for improving social standards is exclusively the growth of the economy, the director of the department for the strategic planning of the economy development at the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine, Yevhen Oleinikov, considers.
"The development of the economy is the platform that forms the basis for raising social standards. We must realize that there is no other source of improving social standards in Ukraine, we will not have money from the heaven," he said, speaking at a panel discussion in Kyiv on Thursday.
According to Oleinikov, the State Economic Stimulation Program approved by the government is aimed at this.
"The social impact of the program is, first of all, that the working-age population will find jobs, social objects are modernized and developed within performing economic tasks," he said.
The director of the department for the economy of social and humanitarian spheres at the ministry, Oleksandr Savenko, in turn, said that the program contains a section on the development of the national pharmaceutical sector, the development of medical infrastructure, as well as measures to reduce the cost of "youth" loans for housing purchases, housing construction for veterans and disabled people.
