Ukrecoresursy (Kyiv) plans this year to increase capital investment into purchase of equipment and the development of the waste treatment area by UAH 25 million compared to 2012, to around UAH 100 million, Ukrecoresursy Director Dmytro Radionov said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.
"The smallest investment which we plan to send into the creation of new collection and recycling facilities will total at least some UAH 100 million, and now we’ve got rather interesting offers from banks on the cheapening of the financing of the projects," he said.
He said that in 2012 capital investment in the purchase of equipment and the development of the waste treatment sector came to some UAH 75 million.
"Six sorting lines were bought and one, which had been idle since 2005, was upgraded and being commissioned at 4, Vakulenchuka Street in Kyiv with the total annual sorting capacity of 60,000 tonnes of solid household waste," Radionov said.
In addition, 44 special-purpose trucks were bought (41 dust-carts) and equipment for the waste collection and recycling, as well as around 2,000 containers for the separate waste collection, he added.
Ukrecoresursy said that its expenses on waste recycling came to UAH 37 million and UAH 12 million was spent on the maintenance of the enterprise.
As reported, referring to Radionov, Ukrecoresursy in 2012 saw its sales income rise by almost 20%, to about UAH 120 million.
