The macroeconomic forecast for 2009 will not be optimistic, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said.
While opening a special meeting of the government in Kyiv on Monday, Tymoshenko said the cabinet would consider how the macroeconomic indicators would change in conditions of global crisis.
"These macroeconomic indicators will not be optimistic at present. They will be neutral," Tymoshenko said.
The premier said that Ukraine would experience the economic recession together with other countries of the world.
"The world needs at least two years to recover," she said. "Ukraine will have economic and financial losses," she added.
The premier stressed that weakening of the hryvnia would affect the macroeconomic forecast for next year.
