Kyiv administration says there are no grounds to increase bread prices in Kyiv
Currently there are no reasons to increase the prices of the most popular types of bread in Kyiv, according to the head of the main pricing department at Kyiv State City Administration, Vasyl Yastrubynsky.
"Preliminary results show that the prices of the most popular types of bread can remain unchanged and should be left at the current level," he told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday.
Yastrubynsky noted that Kyivkhlib, the largest manufacturer of bread and bakery products in the capital, had appealed to Kyiv State City Administration with a proposal to consider the possibility of increasing the prices of the most popular types of bread. At the same time, the company did not provide economically feasible calculations for the need to revise prices for the produce.
He also said that the most popular types of bread are the Ukrainsky and baton loafs.
He said that at present the Kyiv authorities are in talks with Kyivkhlib and are expecting it to provide relevant materials. However, the official assured that from November 1 the prices of the most popular types of bread in Kyiv would not rise.
At the same time, Yastrubynsky noted that the company has the right to set prices for other types of bread and bakery products without consulting with the local authorities.
