Head of the MFA of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha stated that the Ukrainian side "has a package of proposals" for Azerbaijani partners and is interested in diversifying energy supplies to Ukraine.
As reported by an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, Sybiha said this at a joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov.
He called Azerbaijan "a strong country that is developing and demonstrating its notable regional role, and the voice of Azerbaijan in efforts to stop the war is extremely important."
"Regarding the bilateral dimension, which is also strategic. Strategic both from the point of view of current projects that have already been launched and are developing, as well as prospects. This includes energy, infrastructure, and the humanitarian dimension. Azerbaijani business has always had an active presence in Ukraine, and we would welcome further expansion of this presence. We have a package of proposals for our Azerbaijani friends. We are interested in diversifying energy supplies to Ukraine," Sybiha noted.
He described Azerbaijan’s role as strategic for all of Europe from the point of view of energy security, not just for Ukraine.
"We are actively working on this, and I am convinced that we will have significant results," the head of the agency added.
He expressed conviction that cooperation between the countries strengthens both sides and holds great potential.
"A very important element is the Middle Corridor. And Azerbaijan also plays an important role for us, as we do for Azerbaijan, in terms of interaction with the EU. Interaction with the South Caucasus and Central Asia is important for us. And these trade routes are also connected to our interaction with the European Union. We are interested in developing this track. We discussed how to deepen this interaction," Sybiha said.
As is known, the Middle Corridor runs through a number of countries in the region and connects Asia with Europe. It originates in China and passes through Central Asian countries, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey, before reaching Europe.
