John Deere, the world's leading manufacturer of farming equipment, has invested EUR 2 million in its own emergency spare parts depot opened in Kyiv, Ukraine.
In addition to this spare depot, there are 18 warehouses for spares and components operated by John Deere's six dealers in Ukraine, John Deere Ukraine said in a press release. The capacity of all the spare parts depots exceeds $10 million.
"The new spare parts depot will considerably reduce the period of spare parts delivery to consumers from two major warehouses – the European Parts Distribution Centre, located in Germany, and the Parts Distribution Center, located in the United States," reads the statement.
The Kyiv depot offers over 2,300 types of spare parts with a further increase in the range of products in next years.
According to the statement, the emergency spare parts depot in Kyiv was created to balance the existing capacities of the dealers' warehouses and speed up the delivery of critically important spare parts.
"Usually, if a vehicle is broken in the field, spare parts are requested by consumers for immediate delivery, disregarding weekends and bank holidays. With the new depot we are able to deliver spares to our dealers within 36 hours instead of 72," the press service quotes John Deere Ukraine Manager for Spare Parts Vitaliy Shevliuk.
