Public joint-stock company Bogdan Motors Automobile Company, which unites the assets of one of the leading Ukrainian automobile manufacturers – Bogdan Corporation - from January through August 2012 saw UAH 66.4 million in consolidated loss, while in H1, 2012 its losses stood at UAH 31.554 million, the company's press service has reported.
"In January-August 2012, Bogdan Motors, one of the country's largest manufacturers, cut production by 23.2% year-over-year, to 10,716 vehicles. The company's losses are growing every month," reads a comment on the growth of the company's loss.
The company said the pace of growth in its loss is catastrophic, and again the company asked the authorities to urgently take the appropriate measures to protect the car market and support budget-forming companies.
Producers say that it was urgently required to take a final decision on the introduction of a vehicle recycling tax on all imported vehicles (not only Russian vehicles) and to introduce an additional duty on imports of vehicles.
In addition, manufacturers asked to prolong the state programs entitled "Development of Urban Electric Transport" and "School Bus" and subsidize credit interest rates on the purchase of vehicles made in Ukraine.
The company said that in the first eight months of 2012, the companies that are part of Bogdan Motors sent almost UAH 162 million in taxes and duties to the budgets of all levels.
