The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated an additional UAH 3 billion from the reserve fund to advance the purchase of 247 block-modular boiler houses with a total capacity of 1.3 GW, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced.
"Today, at the seventh meeting of the Coordination Center for the Implementation of Comprehensive Regional Resilience Plans, we agreed on steps to expedite the connection of existing equipment. The government has tentatively allocated UAH 424.8 million to connect the existing BMK pipelines – work has already begun," she wrote on Telegram on Thursday.
According to Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, this decision will strengthen the system and ensure additional resilience for communities during peak load periods. Among other issues, the issue of payments to heating and power companies for consumed gas was also addressed.
"In accordance with the Prime Minister’s instructions, we are preparing coordinated proposals for a comprehensive settlement—both of accumulated liabilities and a future settlement model—to avoid their accumulation in the future. We will submit these proposals to the government for consideration in the near future," he wrote.
