Grain production in Ukraie increased by 8.2% in 2025 – Statistics Service
The production of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine by the end of 2025 demonstrated an increase of 8.2% compared to 2024 figures, reaching 61.0 million tonnes, the State Statistics Service (Derzhstat) reported.
Corn, traditionally the dominant crop at 30.9 million tonnes, and wheat, the 23.3 million tonne harvest, dominated the harvest. The highest gross harvests were achieved by farmers in Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, and Khmelnytsky regions.
However, in the industrial crops segment, the dynamics turned out to be negative: the sugar beet harvest decreased by 8.7%, and the sunflower harvest by 7.0%.
According to the agency’s calculations, an analysis of the published infographics indicates that the gross grain harvest in 2025 will amount to 61.045 million tonnes. This figure is 8.2% higher than the year before and 0.5% higher than the 2023 figure. The opposite situation is observed with sugar beet, whose harvest fell to 11.689 million tonnes, 8.7% lower than the 2024 target and 11.3% lower than the 2023 harvest (13.2 million tonnes). A similarly significant decline is characteristic of sunflower, whose production volume fell to 10.24 million tonnes. This result is 7% lower than the 2024 figure and 20.5% lower than the 2023 gross harvest, which was recorded at 12.8 million tonnes.
