Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko discussed expanding the capabilities of the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund (URIF) with DFC CEO Ben Black.

"In less than a year, the Fund has gone from concept to tangible results. The first investment in a Ukrainian dual-use technology company has already been approved, and more than 200 applications are currently under review. These are important milestones in our long-term economic partnership between Ukraine and the United States in priority sectors – energy, dual-use technology manufacturing, critical minerals, and infrastructure," Svyrydenko wrote on her Telegram channel following the meeting in Washington.

According to her, the parties are jointly working on developing practical tools to support investors, including the use of war risk insurance mechanisms offered by DFC for private sector companies.

"We also discussed cooperation with Naftogaz and potential investment projects, in particular the restoration of oil and gas equipment damaged by Russian attacks, in partnership with U.S. companies," the prime minister said.

She added that Ukraine is also offering its underground infrastructure for gas storage to American partners, which, in her view, would strengthen Europe’s energy security and create new routes for energy supplies.

"We also paid attention to a new area of cooperation, ensuring affordable housing for Ukrainians. I thank DFC for its readiness to expand financing opportunities for the Ukrainian Financial Housing Company," Svyrydenko wrote.
