Ukraine plans to accumulate 14.6 bcm of gas by start of 2026/2027 heating season, minimum figure is 13.2 bcm – Shmyhal
Ukraine plans to accumulate 14.6 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas by the start of the 2026/2027 heating season, while the minimum required reserve should remain at the level of previous years – 13.2 bcm, First Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Denys Shmyhal has said.
"According to the baseline scenario, it is planned to accumulate 14.6 bcm of gas in underground storage facilities by the beginning of the heating season," Shmyhal wrote following a meeting of the crisis committee involving representatives of fuel and energy sector companies, where the forecast balance of natural gas supply and distribution for 2026/2027 was approved.
At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Energy added that the minimum reserve required by the start of the heating season is 13.2 bcm.
