KMZ Industries to supply full grain elevator equipment complex for oil extraction plant in Lviv region

KMZ Industries (Karlivka Machine-Building Plant, Poltava region) will manufacture and install a full grain elevator equipment complex for an oil extraction plant in the Lviv region, the company reported on its website.

"KMZ Industries has won a tender for the manufacturing and installation of a complete grain elevator equipment complex for an oil extraction plant in the Lviv region. As part of the project, KMZ Industries' in-house installation teams will carry out equipment assembly, while the company's automated process control (APCS) division will install software for elevator automation," the statement said.

The supply package includes two conical silos with a diameter of 11 meters (each with a storage capacity of 1,856 cubic meters), four conical silos with a diameter of 7.3 meters (each with a capacity of 584 cubic meters), and one conical silo with a diameter of 5.5 meters with a capacity of 261 cubic meters.

A Brice-Baker grain dryer with a capacity of 11 tonnes per hour for corn at 10% moisture removal is foreseen for grain drying. It will operate on gas, be equipped with an aspiration system, and feature full (100%) automation.

The project also includes conveying equipment with a capacity of 50 tonnes per hour – bucket elevators, chain scraper conveyors, and screw conveyors. A PreClean separator with a capacity of 125 tonnes per hour will be installed for preliminary grain cleaning.

The plant notes that it uses galvanized steel from European manufacturers SSAB (Sweden), Voestalpine (Austria), and Wuppermann (Germany) to produce key equipment components.

"Conveying equipment is manufactured from galvanized steel with a zinc coating of 275 g/sq. m, while other equipment features a coating of 450 g/sq. m. The silo roof and grain dryer ducts have a protective coating based on magnesium and zinc, whose corrosion resistance is seven times higher compared to conventional zinc," KMZ Industries said.

The company also recalled that, under a government program, agricultural producers and processors are eligible for reimbursement of 25% of the cost of its grain elevator equipment.

The cost of the equipment has not been disclosed.

KMZ Industries is the largest manufacturer of grain elevator equipment in Ukraine, producing a full range of products, including silos, grain dryers, conveying equipment, and separators, as well as providing automation and installation services.

According to the company, it has built more than 5,000 facilities. Silos produced by KMZ Industries with a total volume exceeding 12.5 million cubic meters are currently in operation.
