Ukraine's IT market reaches $7.85 bln, with 2,200 active companies – Ministry of Digital Transformation

The total volume of Ukraine's IT market stands at $7.85 billion, with the technology sector accounting for nearly half of the country's total services exports (41.6%), the Ministry of Digital Transformation reported, citing its "Code of the Economy" study.

According to the study, Ukraine currently has more than 305,000 IT specialists and 2,200 active companies. Together with related sectors, the industry supports more than 800,000 jobs across the country.

Among active verified IT companies, 46% are service providers, 39% are product companies, 12% are hybrid, and 3% are outstaffing firms.

The study said that in 2025, the IT sector generated 3.2% of GDP and paid UAH 50.5 billion in taxes. In addition, every UAH 1 generated in IT creates an additional UAH 1.09 in related sectors of the economy, while one IT specialist supports 2.29 jobs in finance, logistics, education, or public administration.

Approximately 80% of all export revenues in the IT sector are generated by 10 partner countries: the United States (nearly $2.4 billion), Malta, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Israel, Switzerland, Germany, Estonia, Poland, and the United Arab Emirates.

As reported, exports of Ukrainian computer services in January 2026 increased by 3.9% compared to January 2025, reaching $508 million, which is 25.8% higher than in December 2025.

Total exports of all services from Ukraine in January 2026 decreased by 24.5%, or $405 million, compared to December 2025, to $1.247 billion, increasing the share of computer services to 40.7%.

At the same time, exports of Ukrainian computer services in 2025 rose by 3.3%, or $210 million, compared to the previous year, reaching $6.66 billion.
