McDonald's resumes its operation in Mykolaiv
PJSC McDonald’s Ukraine Ltd., the private enterprise that operates the McDonald’s fast-food restaurant chain in Ukraine, has reopened its restaurant in Mykolaiv (43 Pavla Skoropadskoho Street) after a lengthy forced hiatus, the company’s press service told Interfax-Ukraine.
"The restaurant in Mykolaiv was supposed to open much earlier – shortly after the reopening of Odesa locations in 2023. However, after the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station, the city faced a challenging water situation, and we couldn’t resume operations until conditions met safety and quality standards. After the construction of a new water supply and stable results from all water quality audits, we can finally reopen in Mykolaiv. For us, this isn’t just a restaurant opening – it’s the return of business, jobs, and a sense of normalcy for the city," comments Yulia Badritdinova, Director General of McDonald’s in Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
With the reopening of the restaurant, McDonald’s is creating over 100 jobs in the city. For the first two weeks after reopening, the restaurant will operate with a limited menu, including no breakfast options. Delivery service will also be available approximately two weeks later.
The restaurant is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and the McDrive is open from 5:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Additionally, the Mobile Order service will now be available in Mykolaiv, allowing customers to place and pay for their orders via an app and pick them up at the restaurant. To ensure uninterrupted service during power outages, the restaurant is equipped with a generator.
During an air raid alarm, the establishment temporarily closes operations so that employees and customers can move to the nearest shelter. Employees receive full pay, regardless of the time spent in shelter during their shift when the restaurant is closed.
The first McDonald’s restaurant in Ukraine opened on May 24, 1997, in Kyiv. Currently, McDonald’s employs nearly 11,000 Ukrainians and operates 139 restaurants, of which 124 are currently open across 42 settlements.
According to the Opendatabot analytical system, McDonald’s in Ukraine generated UAH 21.3 billion in revenue in 2025, exceeding the previous year’s figure by 26.6%. Net profit increased by 21.3%, to UAH 1.567 billion. The company paid UAH 3.5 billion in taxes to the state budget in 2025.
