Ukrainian wheat quotes in ports at start of spring are $215–222 per tonne — UkrAgroConsult

1 min read

The global wheat market entered the spring period with increased volatility due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and fierce competition among key exporters, the UkrAgroConsult analytical agency reported.

Analysts noted that the Black Sea region remains the main benchmark for world prices, with Ukrainian wheat quotes in ports on CPT terms currently in the $215–222 per tonne range. Demand from major importers in North Africa and the Middle East remains active, confirmed by buyers' willingness to work with current price levels even during periods of geopolitical uncertainty.

Meanwhile, in EU countries, large carryover grain stocks and weaker export rates continue to pressure domestic prices. Against this backdrop, logistics costs and energy prices are playing an increasingly important role in shaping the global market, directly determining suppliers' competitiveness and overall production economics.

Among the key trends of the season, UkrAgroConsult cited the formation of a new global trade structure under the influence of geopolitical factors. Analysts predict that increased investor interest in commodity assets and changes to traditional logistics routes will be decisive for price dynamics in the short term.
