Bolt launches new Driver-only category in Kyiv for trips in the client's car

Online taxi service Bolt is launching a Driver-only category in Kyiv, allowing customers to hire a professional driver to operate their own vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission, according to a company statement.

"We see that among Bolt users overall, there is a demand for the ability to use their own car while entrusting the driving to a professional," Sergey Pavlyk, Bolt’s General Manager in Ukraine, was quoted as saying in the company’s release Tuesday.

The company noted that it plans to expand the service to other transmission types in the future. Bolt emphasized that the category includes liability insurance, covering any damage caused to the client’s car through the driver’s fault. Standard life insurance, which applies during all service trips, also remains in effect.

"Trips in the Driver-only category will be performed exclusively by experienced drivers with high ratings, selected based on elevated quality criteria," the company stated. Additionally, Bolt mentioned that customers will have the option to book these trips in advance for a specific time.

In February 2026, the taxi service reported that it was resuming 24-hour operations in 28 Ukrainian cities. These include Bila Tserkva, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Drohobych, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kamianske, Kamianets-Podilskyi, Kryvyi Rih, Kremenchuk, Kropyvnytsky, Lutsk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, and Chernihiv. Previously, the night mode was already operational in Lviv, Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, and Kyiv.

Bolt provides shared mobility services including ride-hailing, e-scooter and e-bike rentals, car sharing, corporate trips, and food and grocery delivery via the Bolt Food service.
