Ukraine's Corporation Biosphere increases share of intl business from 15% to 30% over 4 years of war
Corporation Biosphere increased the share of its international business to 30% in 2025, up from 15% at the beginning of 2022, while its sales in Europe tripled over that period, according to a press release issued Tuesday.
"The company plans to continue expanding its international presence by implementing its long-term strategy: by 2030, to raise the share of international business to 50%, achieve a capitalization of $1 billion, and consider the possibility of an IPO within a five- to six-year horizon," the statement said.
According to the release, while Biosphere lost about 30% of its turnover in 2022, by the end of 2025 it managed to restore revenue to nearly the level of early 2022 at $173 million, which also roughly corresponds to the previously announced 2024 level, and it maintained about 1,800 jobs.
"The company preserved operational resilience… and transformed its business model: from a Ukrainian leader into an international corporation with teams in 15 countries, production facilities in Estonia and Romania, and a presence in more than 100 retail chains across 25 countries worldwide," the release noted.
Over four years of full-scale war, the company invested UAH 500 million in Ukraine's economy and paid UAH 1.5 billion in taxes to the state budget, the statement said.
According to the release, 163 Biosphere employees are currently defending Ukraine at the front. Nine employees have been killed in the line of duty, four are missing, and 32 veterans are already working at the company.
Among other key results over the past four years, which coincided with the full-scale war, the corporation recalled its 2022 acquisition of the Austrian brand Alufix, including a plant in Romania and four branches in EU countries, as well as the opening in 2024 of a professional household chemicals plant in Slavutych (Kyiv region) under its Biosphere Professional division.
At the same time, the company sold its diaper production line and in 2023 launched a new Tea&Food division with its own tea production under the Graff and Ritz Barton brands.
"After Russian manufacturers left the Ukrainian market, Biosphere occupied part of the vacated niche, and within a year the tea segment of the business tripled. The Graff brand is already exported to Spain, and supplies to other EU countries and Canada will begin soon," the release said, outlining achievements in this area.
Biosphere Corporation is Ukraine's largest producer and distributor of household and personal hygiene products, and one of the leading players in this sector in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The company's production facilities consist of six modern factories in Ukraine and two in Europe. Its portfolio has 25 in-house brands, including Freken BOK, Smile, Novita, Lady Cotton, PRO service, Alufix, Vortex. According to the release, Biosphere products are sold in more than 25 countries and over 100 retail chains, including METRO, Auchan, Spar, Billa, Carrefour, Albert, and Hofer.
Biosphere founder and CEO is Andriy Zdesenko.
