Ukraine’s National Nuclear Energy Generating Company Energoatom has systematically supported Ukrainian defenders throughout four years of full-scale war, allocating more than UAH 18.5 billion for frontline needs, the company said on its Telegram channel Tuesday.

"Among other things, the company transferred an Mi-2 helicopter to the Defense Forces of Ukraine to help carry out combat missions. Energoatom also allocated UAH 300 million to the State Border Guard Service to purchase 50 armored personnel carriers for Offensive Guard units," the company said.

In addition, volunteers at nuclear power plant sites actively support Ukrainian defenders.

"Thanks to the efforts of our workforce, nuclear energy workers meet many of the military’s needs by supplying drones, vehicles, electronic warfare systems, satellite systems, and other necessary equipment to the front," the company added.

In October 2023, at the initiative of employees, the public organization Guardians of Light was established. It was founded by company volunteers in Kyiv to respond оперативно to military requests and systematically provide necessary assistance.

According to Energoatom, the organization has since expanded into a network of branches in Pivdennoukrainsk, Varash, Slavutych, and Netishyn. Volunteers continuously support frontline units, promptly meeting their needs, from technical equipment to everyday essentials.

A separate and important area of activity has been the implementation of a psychological and emotional rehabilitation program for service members in cooperation with the Main Directorate for Psychological Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Staff and the administration of the State Border Guard Service. Since the program’s launch, more than 13,000 service members have benefited from it.

On April 3, 2025, the support effort was expanded with the Family program, which provides compensation of 50% of the cost of sanatorium stays for family members of service members undergoing emotional rehabilitation.

To support families of service members who are missing, held in captivity, or killed while carrying out combat missions, the Family Comfort program has been introduced.

Energoatom and the "Guardians of Light" NGO will continue to provide systematic support to service members and their families for as long as necessary, the company said.
