Zelenskyy: Ukraine preparing solution to rebuild and update energy supply for communities based on this winter's experience
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a daily conference call regarding the electricity and heat supply situation in the regions, focusing on restoration work and providing for residents in several provinces.
"Based on the experience of this winter, we are preparing a decision to rebuild and update the energy supply for communities. A corresponding plan for the next heating season will be reviewed and approved at the national level," Zelenskyy wrote on his Telegram channel on Thursday.
The President noted that every city and community that successfully avoided the "internal catastrophes" seen this winter—specifically referencing the critical situation in Kyiv—possesses valuable experience that can and should be applied across the rest of Ukraine.
Zelenskyy also announced an agreement with Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko to establish a coordination center at the government level. This center will be tasked with systematizing the practical experience gained by communities during the current crisis.
The conference call included detailed discussions on the situation in the Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions.
"We separately analyzed what has been done in Zaporizhzhia and which of the region’s experiences can be scaled to other provinces. Ivan Fedorov reported on the work to protect and restore critical infrastructure objects. We will continue to communicate with the heads of our other regions and effective communities," the President said.
