he European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Ministry of Ukraine plan to draw up technical specifications for the realization of joint projects in the energy efficiency area, the ministry's press service reported on Thursday.

"We propose that the bank join in a number of specific projects, where its participation could bring priceless aid," Regional Development, Construction, housing and Utilities Minister Anatoliy Blyzniuk said at a meeting with representative of the EBRD.

In turn, the initiator of the meeting – the director of the Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Department at the EBRD, Terry McCallion – proposed that joint efforts be focused on improving the laws on homeowner associations so that they could receive targeted financing for energy efficiency measures, as well as jointly draw up a mechanism for financial cooperation in concrete projects.
