Large-scale car production at ZAZ is stable, says UkrAVTO

Zaporizhia Automobile Plant (ZAZ), the largest producer of passenger cars in Ukraine and part of UkrAVTO Corporation, has said that its top priority today is large-scale production under the ZAZ brand (Lanos, Forza and Vida), for which volumes are stable, and with the start of production of a new car this year – the VIDA – the plant expects that a jump in sales could be seen.

The press service of UkrAVTO issued the statement on June 8, 2012, commenting on reports of the possible closure of the plant in 2013 if the automotive industry, which is in crisis, does not get any state support.

"The improvement of the conditions of operation on the Ukrainian market [including an increase in imports duties] will allow ZAZ not only to boost sales, but also to continue investing in production and plan the launch of new models," the press release says.
