FFU ready to help FC Arsenal Kyiv

The Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) said that the FFU is ready to help FC Arsenal Kyiv.

"Despite the fact that Director General of FC Arsenal Kyiv Viktor Holovko uses insulting expressions addressing the national federation and misinforms people regarding aid we proposed, we again officially confirm that we're ready to do everything that depends on us to save the club," the press service of FFU reported on Saturday, November 2.

If Holovko urgently withdraws an official letter sent to the Premier League with the notification asking to withdraw the club from all the competitions, FFU will quickly direct its efforts to organize the holding of the Ukrainian Championship Round 15 match between Arsenal Kyiv and Metalurh Zaporizhia on November 3, 2013.

On October 23, 2013, Holovko said that the club does not have any further sources of financing, and called on potential investors to help the team. On October 24, 2013, Party of Regions MP and businessman Oleksandr Onyschenko said that he had stopped financing the club.

On October 25 FC Arsenal failed to appear for a Ukrainian Championship match with Simferopol FC Tavriya, and the match was not held. On October 29, 2013, FC did not travel to a Ukrainian Cup match against Ternopil FC Nyva.

On October 29, 2013, Holovko said that FC Arsenal has started bankruptcy procedures and has been eliminated from the Ukrainian Championship and Ukrainian Cup of the 2013-2014 season due to the absence of financing,

On November 1, 2013, Holovko described as misleading reports of an offer from the FFU to help Arsenal hold the next home game of the national championship, which was announced by the head of the FFU's information department, Pavlo Ternovy.

"Mr. Ternovy claims that an offer has allegedly been submitted by FFU management to Arsenal to assist it in holding the next home game: they allegedly offered a stadium, a bus, etc. This is a lie from beginning to end. It's shameful for an FFU representative to lie to the country's football community! Today I'm the sole director of FC Arsenal: nobody has appealed to me, and nobody offered help... I ask everyone to stop holding a smear campaign around the dying Arsenal," he said.
