Party of Regions MP Oleksandr Onyschenko has officially become the owner of FC Arsenal Kyiv.

"Oleksandr Onyschenko has officially become the owner of FC Arsenal in Kyiv. The other party has already handled over all of the necessary documents," the MP's press service told Interfax-Ukraine on Saturday.

On April 25 it was reported that Onyschenko had paid off all of the debts of FC Arsenal.

"All debts at Arsenal Kyiv for transfers, salaries to players and other employees, as well as taxes, were paid off as of April 25, 2013. Oleksandr Onyschenko, as he promised, fulfilled all obligations to UEFA and FFU in time, which automatically allows Arsenal to qualify for participation in the competitions of the 2013-2014 season," the press service told Interfax-Ukraine.

As reported, on February 15, 2013 it was announced that Arsenal Kyiv would be passed to MP Onyschenko with wage arrears of $5.5 million as of January 1, 2013, plus UAH 330 million more in debts. The MP's press service said that it was still necessary to agree only on some issues with documents.

Ukrainian businessman and President of FC Arsenal Kyiv Vadym Rabynovych said on March 6 that the process on the club's transfer to Party of Regions MP Onyschenko had not yet been completed. He also said that he was demanding no money for Arsenal from Onyschenko.

"I'm passing the club to Onyschenko with the debt standing as of January 1, 2013 at around $5 million, the contracts of players for more than $8 million, and a place in the Premier League. I'm passing no other debts in the club. I'm assuming the club's large bank loan in hryvnias. He will also get the debt on wages," Rabynovych said.
