Ukrainian Energy Day in London to take place on 12th June at the prestigious UK Energy Institute

The Ukrainian Energy Day in London (http://strategy-council.com/en/conf/ukrainian-energy-day-in-london/) is a unique opportunity for key players in the Ukrainian energy sector to meet with their UK and international counterparts to outline progress being made in the reform of the sector and to highlight the commercial opportunities that are being created as Ukraine takes ambitious steps towards energy independence.

Key Ukrainian energy stakeholders will be joined by an influential and diverse audience, drawn from potential strategic investors, UK government officials, leading energy commentators and experts and institutions from the City of London with a special focus on the energy sector.

Programme highlights include:

Nataliya Boyko, Deputy Minister for European Integration, Ministry of Energy & Coal Industry of Ukraine and Olga Bielkova, Deputy Head of the Fuel & Energy Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, who will outline the latest government policies to improve transparency and competitiveness in the sector, including the new Electricity Market law;

Yuriy Vitrenko, of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Jonathan Popper of Ukrnafta, Sergiy Boyev of Ukrgasvydobuvannya and Maksym Maksimentsev of Nadra Ukrayny, will outline the opportunities for cooperation with Ukraine's state-owned energy companies;

Didier Magne, Head of Gas, Europe, TrailStone Group, Willem Coppoolse, CEO, Engie Energy Management Ukraine and Andrew Favorov, Managing Partner of Energy Resources of Ukraine, will provide an insight into the functioning of the domestic natural gas market and the opportunities for the import of natural gas from the EU;

Mirek Topolánek, Director, International Development & Public Affairs, Eustream, and former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, will outline the Slovak gas TSO's plans following the recent signing of an MOU on cooperation with Ukraine;

Tom Reed, CEO of JKX Oil & Gas, Alastair McBain, CEO of Arawak Energy, Robert Bensh, CEO of Leadville Resources and Roman Opimakh, Executive Director, Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine will share their views on what is required from the government to encourage investment in exploration and production to increase domestic gas production;

Eric Rasmussen, Head of Natural Resources at the EBRD, Elena Voloshina, Head of Operations, Ukraine, IFC and Anna Galtsova of IHS Markit will share their experience and analysis of the sector;

Vitalii Butenko, Commercial Director, DTEK Energo, will give the market leader's view of the impact of the new law, as well as discussing DTEK's electricity exports. Volodymyr Kupchak, General Director of VolynOblEnergo, will provide the point of view of a regional distribution company;

They will be joined by the members of the Steering Committee and respected Ukrainian energy experts: Graham Tiley of Shell, Dr Jim Bown of Deane Group International, Dr Simon Pirani of the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies and Professor Alan Riley of the Atlantic Council.
