Ukraine's economy is characterized by high critical depreciation of fixed capital which does not allow it to achieve the required rate of development at the level of 7-9%. Investment debt from infrastructure investment is over 100 billion US dollars. At the same time start of processes of modernization is a tremendous opportunity for economic growth. In particular, a large number of construction materials and equipment needed for infrastructure construction is produced by domestic enterprises (metal, cement, energy and transport equipment, pipes, etc.). Infrastructure construction will generate domestic market and order book for the important sectors of the national economy. Also, this process certainly should cause a structural change in the economy towards the development of industries with higher added value. So, start of processes of the infrastructure renewal resolves lots of important tasks and that’s why it is the key to job creation and economic growth. Given the above, Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and SE 'Ukrainian Industrial External Expertize' initiate the Ukrainian Forum of Infrastructure Development. Forum will provide answers to key questions regarding the plans to modernize, upgrade infrastructure funding sources and mechanisms for implementing large-scale investment projects.
