Kliuyev likes the blues, supports release of new album of Dozhd band, band's leader says
Kyiv, December 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – First Deputy Premier and Economic Development and Trade Minister Andriy Kliuyev supported release of the new album of Dozhd (Rain) Kharkiv band, leader of the Dozhd (Rain) band Alexander Dolgov said during the presentation of the album in Interfax-Ukraine agency in Kyiv on Friday.
"I was glad when I knew that Andriy Kliuyev likes the blues. I appreciate a lot this man for his support. It's thanks to this [minister's support] our album entitled "Muzhskoye" ("Male") was released," he said.
"This album completely reflects my present mood and vision of music. I consider this work to be a breakthrough. This is a first album with quality guitar music in our country, real and mature," he said.
Dolgov is called the father of blues movement in Ukraine, and a master blues guitar player in the United States ["Blues Foundation"]. He is the only musician in our country who received the official copyright from Universal Music Publishing to sing and record classics of world blues.
Dozhd (Rain) band was found by the students of the department of foreign languages of Kharkiv National University in 1986.
