Top managers of Culture ministry receive more bonuses in Dec 2017 than top managers of other ministries - study

KYIV. Feb 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Top managers of the Culture Ministry of Ukraine in December 2017 received the largest bonuses compared with top managers of other ministries, according to a study conducted by NGO Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Association.

According to the study presented at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday, top managers of the Culture Ministry (five people) received UAH 429,600 in bonuses in December 2017, while top managers of the Defense Ministry (five people) – UAH 245,600, the Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Ministry (three persons) – UAH 89,000, the Ministry for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons (five people) – UAH 176,500 and the Information Policy Ministry (12 people) – UAH 435,400.

"The smallest bonuses, an average of UAH 8,000 out of a total of UAH 47,000, were paid to six officials of the Education Ministry," said member of the Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Association Oleksandr Aronets.

The organization said that 11 ministries out of 18 ministries, to which relevant inquiries were sent, had provided information on the awarding of their top officials.

Public activists received no answers from the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry, the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, the Infrastructure Ministry, the Youth and Sports Ministry, the Health Ministry and the Justice Ministry.
