KYIV. Dec 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The loss of Agrarian 2016 LLC (Kyiv) after the arrest of its harvest have reached some UAH 20 million.

"The 2017 harvest that we threshed from the area of near 2,000 ha was brought to a silo for storage. An agreement with the buyer was signed, although he cannot take away our products and pay for it, as a criminal case has been opened, and Agrarian 2016 LLC has no relation to it, while the crops were arrested. We are facing large losses now," Director of Agrarian 2016 Oleksandr Hulko said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.

Lawyer and representative of Business and Law company Liudmyla Baliychuk said that the loss of the agricultural producer is estimated at some UAH 20 million.

"It includes the sums that were to arrive for the sale of agricultural products, expenses linked to crop planting and payment of farmland rents for planting agricultural crops. The loss is growing each day," the lawyer said.

She said that some 657.1 tonnes of sunflower seeds and 654.8 tonnes of corn were arrested.

Baliychuk said that on December 11, 2017, the investigative judge of Kyiv's Shevchenkivsky district court made a decision to arrest the crops planted by Agrarian 2016.

"On December 18, Shevchenkivsky district court repeatedly arrested the same crops. We believe that this is inadmissible, as there is another decision on the arrest of the crops. Today, we are taking all measures to restore legal rights of the agricultural producer and the company that bought the crops," the lawyer said.

Agrarian 2016 cultivates 2,000 ha of land in Kyiv region. The agricultural company's core business is production of grain crops and oilseeds.
