Most Ukrainians do not support mass protests – survey

KYIV. Nov 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Most Ukrainians (59.9%) do not support the holding of a new Maidan in Ukraine, according to a survey conducted in October-November this year, the results of which were announced at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on November 22.

Some 22.5% of those polled support mass protests, but they are not going to take part in them. Only 9.2% are ready to participate in a new Maidan. Some 8.5% of respondents were undecided.

The study also showed the attitude of Ukrainian citizens to a protest rally currently conducted outside the building of the Ukrainian parliament. Some 7.3% fully support this protest, 13.9% rather support it, 38.5% do not support it at all, and 19% rather do not support the rally. Some 14.4% did not know anything about such a rally, and 6.9% of respondents were undecided.

The survey was conducted by the Socis Center for Social and Marketing Research, Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, the Rating Sociological Group and the Razumkov Center from October 28 to November 14, 2017. A total of 20,000 respondents were interviewed in all regions of Ukraine, except for Crimea and the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The poll's margin of error does not exceed 0.7%.
