Some 35% of Ukrainians would like to leave their country forever – poll
KYIV. Oct 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Over a third of Ukrainians (35%) would like to emigrate, 61% would prefer to stay in their home country.
Over a year, the number of people wishing to leave Ukraine forever has increased by 5%, the Rating sociological group reported.
A total of 64% of those wishing to emigrate want to do this in order to improve their living conditions, 34% want to provide a better future for their children, 23% are ready for this due to a lack of decent work in Ukraine. Some 12% want to get a better education, 8% do not feel safe in Ukraine.
The poll was conducted by the Rating group from September 8 to September 18, 2017 and was commissioned by the All-Ukrainian Association of International Employment Companies. A total of 1,200 respondents were interviewed. The poll's margin of error is under 2.8%.
