UIA introduces low cost tariffs for tickets

KYIV. May 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) from May 12, 2017 introduced low cost tariffs for domestic and international flights if the tickets are bought 10, 8 or six month in advance.

"This is not a sales promotion. This starts today for the indefinite period of time. There are a restricted number of seats – 500,000 seats a year," UIA President Yuriy Miroshnykov said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Friday.

He said that if the tickets are booked 10 months before the flight in Ukraine a one way ticket will cost UAH 248, for flights taking up to two hours to get to the destination the tickets will cost UAH 587, and for the flights taking up to three hours to get to the destination the tickets will cost – UAH 822, and for the over three hour flights – UAH 1,087.

He said that the total number of cheap tickets will be around 7-10% per flight. The cost of the basic service is included in the cheap tickets. Additional services will be separately paid by passengers.

The airline said in a press release that the prices are available only for tickets booked on the airline's website. If the tickets are bought via a call center or in won UIA ticket sales offices the service duty of $18 will be collected.

UIA is the largest Ukrainian airline. It is based in Boryspil International Airport.

Its fleet includes 39 planes, including 35 medium haul planes and four long haul planes.

One of the ultimate beneficiaries is businessman Ihor Kolomoisky.
