KYIV. May 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Participants of the National team of Ukraine on the historical medieval re-enactment 'Battle of Nations', which has become the winner of the World Cup this year, intend to achieve recognition of the historical medieval re-enactment by the International Olympic Committee and want to popularize it in Ukraine.

"This year we have finally managed to grab the "gold." We are very happy about this. Now we face the task of consolidating the result and in the future to take all the remaining gold medals in the "5 vs. 5" nominations, tournament nominations, to return "gold" in women's "3 vs. 3" nominations and further develop our movement in Ukraine," captain of Ukraine's team for the 'Battle of the Nations' medieval battle re-enactment Illia Vyshutin said a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine agency on Thursday entitled "Ukraine's Team Places First at WWII 'Battle of the Nations' Historical Re-Enactment" defeating this category's favorite - the Russian national team.

He said that selections to Ukrainian clubs on the historical medieval reeactment take place annually.

"We do want to popularize this in Ukraine, because Ukraine, Russia, Belarus are those countries that provide large teams for the 'Battle of Nations' every year. This movement is actively developing in Europe due to us. We want to achieve this in Ukraine," Vyshutin said.
