Retail sales on Ukrainian pharma market to reach 2013 level in three years – association

KYIV. Jan 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Retail sales on the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market would reach the 2013 level within three years, board member of the Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of Ukraine and Interchem Head Anatoliy Reder said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.

"The results of 2016 could not but make us pleased. They are positive. The market was strengthening and tried to restore to the positions it had at the development stage. If we move with the same pace and if there were no regulatory changes, by 2018-2019 we are to return to the situation which we left in 2013," he said.

As reported, according to Business Credit company, pharmacy sales in Ukraine in 2016 in monetary terms increased by 22% compared to the same period in 2015, to UAH 57.211 billion ($2.2 billion). In packages they rose by 13%, to 1.432 million packages. Retail sales of medicines in 2016 in monetary terms increased by 21%, to almost UAH 46.872 billion, and in packages - by 14%, to 891.945 million packages.
