KYIV. Dec 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) - ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region) retains its interest to the use of berths at Olvia port (earlier Oktiabrsk seaport, Mykolaiv) for handling own products.

"We want to take several berths at the port, but the process has slightly suspended," ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih CEO Paramjit Kahlon said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine in Kyiv on December 9.

Deputy CEO for Cooperation with public agencies and communications Volodymyr Tkachenko said that earlier a memorandum of intent was signed with Ukraine's Infrastructure Ministry. It envisaged the leasing of the above-mentioned berths.

"The ministry has not moved forward. They have plans to transfer the port under the concession agreement," he said.

Asked if the company is ready to take the port's facilities under the concession agreement, Tkachenko said that first the ministry should determine its strategy.

"Let them say what they are ready for. We made the proposal. We have not received the answer. We are waiting for it," he said.
