KYIV. Oct 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The newly created authorities to fight corruption in Ukraine, namely the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), have not yet proven their effectiveness, according to experts polled by the Center for Promoting Reforms.

"One of the main reasons for this situation is a lack of professionalism of their management and staff with both lack of experience and the desire to "promote themselves," according to the study, presented by head of the center research programs Heorhiy Chizhov (ten interviews with political scientists, technologists, sociologists, analysts and social activist were held from September 5 to October 10) at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.

The experts point out that a lack of professionalism is compounded by public scandals and corporate wars in the NABU and the SAP.

At the same time, some respondents believe that the new authorities are still waiting and familiarizing themselves with their jobs. They are practicing on minor officials before moving on to more serious cases. On the other hand, according to one of the experts, this position may be due to no "go-ahead signals" from higher-ranking officials.
