ArcelorMittal expects positive result from enhancing synergy of Ukrainian and Kazakh assets

KYIV. May 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) - ArcelorMittal, the largest steel company in the world, expects positive result from strengthening synergy between PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region) and JSC ArcelorMittal Temirtau (Kazakhstan).

"The interaction of the two businesses will be strengthened," CEO of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Paramjit Kahlon, who from May 1 started acting as CEO of ArcelorMittal CIS, which includes PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih and JSC ArcelorMittal Temirtau, said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine in Kyiv.

"I am responsible for both companies, will manage business processes at the two enterprises. The objective is synergy: we buy a lot of coal in Kazakhstan, while in Ukraine we produce many spares and goods that can be delivered to Kazakhstan. We want to create a win-win situation for both enterprises," the company director said.

He said that a separate organizational structure was not created after his appointment as CEO of ArcelorMittal CIS, however the area of his activities and responsibility was expanded.
